How John 16:23 is applied across Bible answers

Do we pray to Jesus or God?

Jesus explicitly states the "order" of our prayers - to the Father, through (or by) Jesus' name.

Extra Context for this Application:

Jesus is about to depart from earth, which will mark the time at which "you will ask nothing of me." Essentially, "God on earth" would no longer be in their physical proximity.
