Bible Passage Scripture Block

A unit of scripture that displays exactly what is written (ESV), along with a rephrasing and its immediate context. The resulting ‘scripture block‘ is then used to build the answer to a Bible question if/when it is applicable. What is written? (ESV)

Then Pilate said to him, So you are a king? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.

What does it say?

Pilate asked if Jesus was a king and Jesus effectively responded, “Yes”, and adds that he came into the world to “bear witness to the truth.” Whoever is of the truth will listen to him.

What is its immediate context?

Jesus evening of betrayal and series of trails concluding here with Pilate.
