why we've grouped some questions around PEN Hermeneutic?

The PEN Hermeneutic is the interpretive path by which sincere students of Scripture move from possibility, through the elimination of false trails, toward the necessary conclusions compelled by the whole counsel of God.

Beginning with what a passage might mean, the student allows Scripture to eliminate what it cannot mean until only what it must mean remains. This progression—from Possibility, through Elimination, to Necessity—forms the PEN Hermeneutic. It rests upon the foundational conviction that Scripture interprets Scripture and serves as the pathway by which believers arrive at legitimate necessary inference.

This process—Possibility, Elimination, Necessity—provides the pathway to legitimate necessary inference and complements the traditional framework of Command, Example, and Necessary Inference (CENI). If Scripture Interprets Scripture is the foundational conviction of this site, PEN is the pathway, and CENI is one of the means by which biblical authority is ultimately recognized and established.
