Mark 10:51-52
What is written? (ESV)
And Jesus said to him, What do you want me to do for you? And the blind man said to him, Rabbi, let me recover my sight. And Jesus said to him, Go your way; your faith has made you well. And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way.
What does it say?
Jesus asked him [Bartimaeus] what he wanted from Him. After asking to receive his sight, Jesus healed him and told him that it was his faith that made him whole. In that instant, Bartimaeus could see and began to follow Jesus.
What is its immediate context?
Jesus is in the midst of His public ministry. He has come to Jericho with His disciples and is now leaving when they encounter a blind beggar, Bartimaeus (vs 46). The beggar cried out and addressed Jesus as the “Son of David” (vs 47). Matthew (20:29-34) and Luke (18:35-43) also record this event.
